Ever since the iPhone launched in 2007 there have been rumors of a CDMA version for Verizon. Every time we hear about this Unicorn we get excited and then are extremely disappointed when we discover that rumors are nothing more than empty words. These rumors followed over to the iPad; many people thought the iPad would be on Verizon when it launched but this was not the case. When the iPad launched earlier this year the 3G version was on AT&T, not Verizon like we all hoped it would be.
While browsing the internet today I came across a glimmer of hope in the saga for having Apple products supported by a network worthy of carrying some of the best products in the industry. One man took it upon himself to grant our wish and deliver us the Verizon iPad. Now I personally would not recommend doing this but if you are curious about how he did it or want to try it then by all means read his post. There are step-by-step instructions as to how to mod your iPad with a Verizon mifi card and there is even a speedtest comparison between an AT&T iPhone and the Verizon moded iPad. While there are some tempting features that come with this mod, such as having Verizon as your provider and turning your iPad into a mobile hot spot, I would still not recommend that anyone mess with the internal workings of their iPad.
