Security firm Sophos comments that Apple did nothing to implement any sort of URL filtering to stop spammers, yet your profile picture will not show until approved by Apple - probably for content filtering (so no pics of flipping the bird). Ping also doesn't require a credit card or any other positive identification, so fake accounts are easily created. ...

Kara Swisher (aka mini-Walt Mossberg) wrote an article on All Things Digital about why there was no Facebook integration with the new Ping service - Apple's new Social Media tool that is now a huge part of iTunes 10. Jobs, according to Swisher, pretty much said that Apple had discussions with Facebook but they ultimately went nowhere.
