Another Swing for Apple TV

Apple's hobby product Apple TV may be seeing a new iteration this fall, making the leap from hobby to something they actually care about.   Other than the timing of the leak, this shouldn't be considered a response to Google's announcement last week of their set top box, since Apple TV has been around for three years now.   The new Apple TV is expected to be more of a front end device  using cloud storage rather than a local drive.  It is also likely it will be running the next gen iPhone OS making a nice triumvirate of Apple...

No need to get your eyes checked, you read that right.  Rumors are showing up on various tech blogs that Steve Ballmer will be joining Steve Jobs on stage for part of his keynote presentation at WWDC. Why you ask?  Supposedly, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 will allow software developers to write applications for various Apple products such as the iPhone, iPad and OS X. The Visual Studio element is said to take up almost 10 minutes of the speech.  I guess we all know what part nobody will care about already.

Update: Microsoft's official Twitter page has denied Ballmer's attendance at...

Wired Magazine for the iPad now available. Awesomeness ensues.

Popular Science was the magazine I most looked forward to reading as a boy.  I loved the long articles with colorful photographs and mockups of the sci-fi gadgets and toys I dreamed of owning.  But as a man I have to admit my preference for geeky periodicals has shifted over to Wired.  They share PopSci's love of the infographic and glossy photo's.  They too embrace the future, which is why Wired magazine has opened their subscription model to include the digital medium. Now you iPad users can leaf through the magazine like it was the paper edition  and make use...

The Register has posted what Britons believe are the top 100 inventions of all time. Top of the list at number one - the wheel (good choice Britain) and at the bottom in the number 100 spot is Clothes Peg. Now here's the kicker - the Apple iPhone comes in at number 8 - just above a Flushing toilet!!! Britain - come on! Apple's iPod comes in at 56, while headphones come in at 75. There seems to be no logic to this list but here it is for all to see.

Wal-Mart drops price of iPhone 3GS to $97

In a not so surprising move from Wal-Mart, they've dropped the 16GB iPhone 3GS to $97. There are two possible reasons for this: 1. Wal-Mart wants to increase sales of the 3GS iPhone to make way for the soon to be released iPhone 4 2. The 3GS will replace the 8gb 3G as the entry-level iPhone sometime next year. Jobs has already stated that the new iPhone 4.0 software will only work on 3GS and the iPad. This sounds like the Apple way to get people to ditch their current iPhones (even if they still work) and buy the...

Steve Jobs To Deliver The WWDC Keynote

It's official.  Superman will be attending the Worldwide Developers Conference next month.  Correction, Steve Jobs will be delivering the keynote at WWDC next month.  I always get those two confused! Apple issued a press release this morning officially announcing that Steve Jobs will deliver the keynote on June 7th. The sold-out event will take place at the Moscone Center's West building, and Mr. Jobs will start things off at 10:00 AM Pacific/ 1:00 PM Eastern. Besides the rumored new iPhone release and it possibly going to Verizon Wireless, there may also be a refresh for the new Mac Pro systems which is...
