Kindle now on the iPad

The other day I brought you breaking news that Amazon released their Kindle software on the Mac (post is here). Now today they have introduced the Kindle App for all Tablet Computers including the iPad. Now you may ask yourself how did Apple let this happen? Well Amazon's big secret is how you purchase their books. You don't purchase through the Kindle App, but through a mobile web page (mostly that loads in Safari, as opposed to an in-app browser). Some of the Kindle App's features are:
- Books are tailored to the size, look and feel of your table...

Hey iPad Developers, GO!

Apple emailed registered iPhone/iPad Developers this morning letting them know the rules to have their applications submitted for the grand opening of the iPad App Store. Of course all apps will go through the very strict, yet unknown process that Apple uses to allow apps in the store. Some of the other rules include
- Apps must be built in the iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 5 to be in the initial review
- Your app must be uploaded via the iTunes Connect by Sat. March 27th, 5pm PDT
- Only apps submitted for the initial review will be considered for the grand opening of the iPad App...

We have all seen enough movies to know that when someone is walking around with a silver metal briefcase handcuffed to their hand, chances are you should turn around and walk the other way. Or should you? Rumors are percolating all over the web that certain Developers have been sent iPads for testing purposes only and must follow strict guidelines after receiving them. Some are saying that the iPad must be kept in a room with blacked out windows and must be connected to a specific object at all times. Oh and of course they supposedly have to frequently send in photos...

No Content…No Problem.

We are 15 days away from the launch of the iPad and Apple certainly is not having any issues selling pre-orders. Various sources have suggested that pre-orders alone could pass 200,000 by mid-day today and that number will only go up.
According to Apple Beat Report Yukari Iwatani Kane of The Wall Street Journal, Apple is in crunch mode to secure content deals for the iPad.
What would be interesting is to see how many pre-orders have been made for 3G and how many have been made for WiFi only. Anybody have estimates on that?
Feel free to read the WSJ story

An embarrassing train ride

I talk about how AT&T tried to rip me off one day when my MLB program on my iPhone went off in Canada, and how they charged me $950!! So at this point I go into my...
